PRIVACY POLICY
DRAFT — FOR OWNER AND LEGAL REVIEW BEFORE PUBLICATION. This policy must be updated to identify the data controller and reflect the actual providers, safeguards, retention periods and cookie choices before any forms are enabled.
Information we collect
When online registration is enabled, the customer waitlist will collect first name and email address, optional county and car-care interests, and a separate marketing-consent choice. Detailer registration will collect business name, contact name, email address, county and business type, with an optional website or Instagram link. Contact enquiries contain name, email, subject and message. Emails sent directly to Washy include the sender’s email address and any information they choose to include. Please do not send sensitive personal information.
Purposes and legal bases
We will use customer details to manage the waitlist and communicate relevant information about registration and launch. Our proposed basis is legitimate interests in administering requested registrations, subject to a documented assessment. We use detailer information to respond to registrations of interest and enquiries, relying on legitimate interests or steps taken at your request before a contract where appropriate. Promotional email marketing requires separate, freely given consent. Choosing not to consent does not prevent joining the waitlist. We may also process limited information to comply with legal obligations. CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: document the lawful basis and any legitimate-interest assessment for each purpose.
Storage, security and service providers
Online forms are not connected and do not currently submit information. Email enquiries are received via info@washy.ie. Access should be limited to authorized Washy personnel and service providers who need it. CONFIRM BEFORE ENABLING FORMS: identify the data controller, form destination, hosting and email providers, processor agreements, access controls, storage locations and any international-transfer safeguards. Do not publish registration details automatically. Use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards; no service can guarantee absolute security.
Email updates and your choices
Only people who opt in should receive marketing emails. Every marketing email must provide an unsubscribe option. You may also contact info@washy.ie to withdraw consent or request help. Detailer and contact enquiries do not automatically subscribe you to marketing.
Cookies and analytics
Essential hosting technologies may be used to operate the website. Before launch, verify all cookies and analytics in use, name the providers and explain their purposes and retention. Obtain consent for non-essential technologies where required. This draft does not assert that an analytics or advertising integration is active.
Retention
Personal information should be kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then securely deleted or anonymized, subject to legal obligations. CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: specify a retention period or clear retention criteria for waitlist records, detailer enquiries, contact messages, email correspondence and backups. Keep only the minimal suppression information needed to respect an unsubscribe request.
Your data protection rights
Subject to applicable law, you can request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability or object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. We may need proportionate identity verification. You can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or your relevant supervisory authority, including the ICO where applicable.
Contact and policy updates
Contact info@washy.ie to ask about your personal information or exercise your rights. CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: the responsible data controller’s legal identity and required contact details, the process for handling rights requests and the effective date of this policy. We will update this draft when providers or data practices change.
